Windows XP = Windows eXtremely Painful

OK… not the way I wanted to write my first ever Blog.. but Windows bloody XP…. AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!

‘Windows restore is a totally reversible process’ it tells you, as you try to roll back your settings to a couple of weeks ago to see if it fixes a problem (a problem with Windows incidentally).

So I go back to setting from two weeks ago and the problem is still there.. never mind I think.. I’ll restore everything back to how it was last night and look for another fix…

Whirrr.. whirr.. tick.. tick… reset.. boot… ‘sorry, couldn’t do that for you’.

Argghhhhh… OK.. let’s try to get it back to how it was two days ago….

whirr… whirr… tick.. tick…. whirr… reset… boot… reset… boot…. reset…. (do you see a pattern emerging here).

Arrrggggghhhhhhhh….. OK… let’s repair Windows using the installation CD… whirrr.. tick… tick…. error message.. ‘sorry… couldn’t repair’…. reset.. boot…. reset… boot….. (in fact I missed the step where it came up with an error box with a button to click on but it had disabled both the keyboard AND mouse).

Arrrgggghhhhhhhh…. OK… let’s try one more time to repair it…. boot… reset… boot… reset…. boot… reset… CD? Nah, sure there ain’t one mate… reset… boot….

Oh FFS!

So now I’ve had to reinstall EVERYTHING again from scratch…. great….

  1. THE Dave Wood? No, it can’t be. Well if it is, the Foundations lectures were good last term. Or at least the three I turned up to were.

  2. Also, it’s good if you don’t accidentely click ‘Format’ and then ‘yes’ by mistake.

    My mate fancies you…laughs….runs away.

  3. Who’s your mate?! 🙂

  4. more importantly, male or female?!
